We've got good news for you! In average conditions (not too cold, and not too humid), our Vintage Bird Furniture Paint & Milk Paints take around 20 - 30 minutes to be touch dry. This means you can re-coat in half an hour!

Don't forget to paint in THIN coats - your surface will dry faster, and look smoother when you've finished.

The Eggshell Clear Coat takes around 2 hours to be touch dry once applied. It's best to leave it overnight before use.

Hemp Finishing Oil is best left on your surface for around 1 -2 hours, and then excess removed and the surface gently buffed. You can use oiled pieces straight away.

There are some instances where you don't need to sand, and some where you definitely do!

Generally, we recommend a quick, scuff sand for most pieces. Think of it as an extra insurance policy for the longevity of your paint finish.

Scuff sanding means just that - the aim is to just scuff the surface to provide extra 'tooth' for the paint to adhere to. In other words, just roughening up, and de-glossing the existing finish. You don't need to sand back to bare timber. A quick go over with a medium grit sandpaper (usually a 180 or 220 grit) does the job. For a medium sized piece of furniture, this shouldn't take more than 10 minutes, or 5 minutes for a small piece like a simple bedside table.  That's an average of two songs on your playlist!

We don't think that's too big an investment of time to ensure your paintwork stays looking fresh and new for years.

If you are painting over a matte painted surface, or new, or sanded timber, you don't need to do this step.

If you're painting a factory made, satin, stained or glossy piece of furniture, we strongly advise scuff sanding after you have given the piece a good clean first.

Here's a quick guide to how much paint you need to purchase for use with your Rejuvenate Kit:

• Small Project like a couple of kitchen stools, or a bedside table or small pair of end tables? You can buy a 250ml bottle or small bag of Milk Paint.

• Medium Project like a dining table, or medium sized console, or 2 bedside tables and bedroom chair? A 500ml size bottle will be perfect, or a small size bag of Milk Paint.

• Large project in mind? You can paint a dining table and 4 - 6 chairs (depending on size) with a litre  bottle of our paint. It's also enough to paint an entire queen bedroom suite. A large bag of Milk Paint will also give you similar coverage - depending on the consistency you mix up, and the surfaces you're painting.
