Part of our new addition of natural bristle brushes for using with our Milk Paint or waxes, you'll find this little brush a useful addition to your painting kit.
It features a stainless steel ferrule, natural birch handle, leather strap for storage, soft tipped and glued bristles in a round configuration with flat edge.
We have introduced this brush to our range specifically for our Milk Paint range, but you'll find it's also perfect for aapplying our clear and coloured waxes, or dding a little texture to your finishes when used with thicker paints such as chalk paint, or with texture additives like Salt Wash. It also doubles as a stencil brush.
You can use this brush with our Vintage Bird Furniture Paint, but due to the paint consistency, you may find it leaves light brush strokes when compared to the synthetic bristles of our Cling On! brush range.
Care for this brush carefully, and it will last you a long time.
We recommend rinsing immediately after use and then washing thoroughly with our Vintage Bird Brush Cleaning Gel and a stiff, nylon brush (like you use for washing the dishes). Don't soak the bristles for long periods, and avoid sitting the ferrule (steel area) in water for periods of longer than a few minutes. Please note:if you are using this brush with wax, you will need a product such as our Brush Gel to remove all traces of wax. Many other brush cleaners, or brush soaps are designed for cleaning water based paint from brushes. Vintage Bird Brush Gel does both. You can find it HERE.
If the bristles start to splay a little (this is what natural bristles tend to do), you can wrap a small elastic band around the dry bristles when storing between uses. Also, store flat or hanging, to help the bristles maintain their natural shape.
Please be aware, it is usual for natural bristle brushes to shed some bristles from time to time. You may find it does so in the first one or two uses, then settles. We recommend washing and air drying your brush before your first use.
